Ministering to Seniors Online: Facebook + YouTube

A recent Neilsen study revealed that in November of 2004, there were 11.3 million active seniors online. In November 2009, that number jumped by 55% to 17.5 million. In addition, they spend more time on the web, totaling an average of 58 hours a month in front of the browser.

With the explosion in the use of Social Media sites over the past 2 years, Facebook and YouTube rank #3 and #4 in the Top Destinations Visited by Persons 65+ in November 2009.

This information is significant to all Ministries; especially those wishing to reach out to Senior Citizens that may not be able to attend Church services on a regular basis.  Please keep this in mind when formulating your Online Ministry Strategies. Facebook and YouTube Ministry can cover a variety of age groups.

Let's not forget anyone - especially Senior Citizens on the Web.
